CITY OF NEWBURGH One of those pop-up COVID-19 vaccination sites promised by the state popped up Saturday morning at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center on South William Street.
By the time it was over, 250 local members of the state s underserved population, including seniors and minorities, had received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine to protect them against the deadly virus.
They ll return in three weeks to get the second shot.
People like 88-year-old city resident Floyd Lewis were happy to take advantage of the opportunity. I m glad to get this, Lewis said as he walked out after getting his shot. Especially at my age.
