There are as few prisoners there now as any point in the past or teen years. The past 14 years. They would move 30 to 60 prisoners to facilities on the mainland. Some of them would likely be tried for military commissions. Others remaining detained, perhaps indefinitely. While prisoners deemed low risk, they would be resettled to host countries overseas. This is something the president office. Technically he cannot spend any money on this without congressional approval. Congress has not been on the his reasoning, largely the same but he could be facing stronger opposition than ever. Keeping this facility open is contrary to our values.
