A CAT which became an animal charity s longest staying resident has found a new home - after his plea was published in The Echo. Cats Protection s Weymouth and District branch launched an appeal to find a forever home for Boots the cat, after he was taken in as an emergency when his owner went into a nursing home. The nine-year-old moggie has been with the charity since August and is their longest staying resident. Staff believe he was overlooked by potential owners because he needs a daily tablet due to a heart condition. But after his story was shared, charity bosses said they were delighted to announce he had been adopted and already moved into his new home.
