against democrat doug jones, let s get a view from the ground. joining me now former alabama gop chair, marty connors. marty, from afar it seems like this race is a referendum on whether you believe the accusers. but what s it look like from the state of alabama? well, you can, you can honestly assess that the circus is definitely in town. we ve had gloria allred here twice, so i think you know what that means. but generally speaking, there s three variables. black vote, will that be intense? will the democrats succeed? in suppressing suburban republican votes? and frankly, will rural voters backlash at the lectures they re getting from washington and some of the media. people in the south and western states expect to get preached at on sunday mornings, but not by jimmy kimmel on late-night television. but how about the way in which i just laid out the public
phone in her bedroom, that the yearbook is faked. gloria allred, to note, she called a congressional hearing in which they would turn over the yearbook if roy moore would testify under oath. the hard part is ali you and i weren t around for this and these are allegations. at the same time, roy moore hasn t been seen since thursday. he s not coming out today and giving this press conference. he has been missing. there is nothing on his schedule. i think until we hear the words coming directly out of his mouth right now he is up against the likes of le corfman and beverly nelson. and the point i want to make here is there are seven other women that have come forward with allegations that no one at the press conference is speaking to or breaking down. they focused on a couple of unique things. i think it is affair to say you know this, von, and i have interviewed several roy moore supporters. we are very involved in this discussion. we are talking to accusers and
julie: roy moore not only vehemently denies these accusations and refuses to drop out despite national gop lawmakers urging him to do so. local gop standing behind him right now. he is taking interestingly enough a similar approach as the president with regard to fake news media. his campaign website added a form for people to report inappropriate news organization contact. the media has given moore s accusers a lot of coverage in recent days. chris, is he trying to shift the blame on the media for reporting on the accusers claims. you can talk about the media and what he tweeted earlier today recently about it being day three and gloria allred hasn t produced the notebook in question about bev nelson. there is deflection going on but the media is part of that.
