Supermarkets in England are to be barred from displaying unhealthy food and drinks at checkouts, or using them in buy one, get one free offers, as part of a proposed government crackdown on obesity.
The move will be subject to a consultation process - and won t come in before 2022.
Auckland University Professor of Public Nutrition and Global Health Boyd Swinburn says it s something that has a huge effect on what people buy.
He says about a third of shoppers respond to those tactics and buy more junk food, so it s an excellent move.
