The Canadian collective, which includes Montreal architects Karyna St-Pierre, Julie Parenteau, Emilie Labrousse and Pierre-Yves Diehl, were announced this month as the big winner of Sudbury 2050, an urban design competition organized by the McEwen School of Architecture that asked entrants to envision Sudbury’s core in 2050. The competition received 100 entries from 28 countries. Whittling that list to 13 finalists was not easy, but the winners represent some thoughtful, provocative and beautifully logical ideas that could prove to be transformative.
