DIMAPUR Oriental Theological Seminary (OTS) in Bade under Chümoukedima district held a candlelight vigil on May 9 to express solidarity with the people of Manipur. The candlelight vigil was organised by the OTS unit of Student Christian Movement of India (SCMI). An update from the seminary stated that Ayivie-o Koza, president of the SCMI OTS unit, led the vigil, while Zavi-i Nisa, assistant professor of New Testament Studies, prayed for the community. Lamneiphal Khongsai, who gave an update on the situation said, “This candlelight vigil is love; reaching out to our friends is love; praying for them is love; sharing current affairs is love because love is praxis.” Dr. Joshua Lorin, its principal and professor of Global Christianity and Baptist Studies, spoke about how the tribals and Meiteis have been neighbors for many years and empathised with the affected victims of the unfathomable conflict.
