The 37yearold pilot from franklinville, new jersey, intentionally flew it here to do training in the murky weather. He was conducting approach training. Its not clear what happened in the. Chopper, but witnesses say it sounded bad while it was still up in the air. The black smoke went up high over route 13. It could be seen for quite some distance. People rushed over to try to help. Flashes now. We do see that heavy rain that continues moving straight south to north. It lasts longer because its traveling over the same areas. So winn moore, east of marion, its a good thing they got the leak cleaned up but theres lightning starting to develop here. Thats right in the area that did have that leak a little while ago. We also have indications of hail with this storm coming right into philadelphia itself. This area of purple suggests a potential of hail over 1 inch in diameter. Down towards south philly. This is moving straight up to the northeast up the Delaware River in south jersey getting it. You can see its moving very rapidly. More showers back to the west. Everything continues to move through. This is a fairly small disturban disturbance. We have something a little more significant that well have to track for tonight. As we go into the afternoon this main area of rain starts to move out and by the afternoon rush it may be dry across the entire area as we watch the storms coming in central pennsylvania as we go into the evening hours.
