MLB Network analyst Mark DeRosa got to know Cedric Mullins as the manager for Team USA at the World Baseball Classic, and he was impressed by the Orioles outfielder. "He walked in the door every day ready to go, willing to do whatever it took to help us win."
Orioles pitching prospect Alex Pham has flourished in his new role as a starter this year. "It was just nice to know that they had plans for me," Pham said. "I'm just really grateful [for] them just putting the time and effort into me and my development."
After getting designated for assignment by the Royals in December, Ryan O'Hearn wasn't sure what was next. A trade to the Orioles turned things around. "[I] came into spring training [and] loved every minute of it," O'Hearn said. "Loved the atmosphere, loved the guys."
In his first full professional season, Orioles outfield prospect Dylan Beavers is showing progress with High-A Aberdeen. "The coaches really want us to not stress about game-to-game results and just focus on our own progress as a player," Beavers said.
For St. Paul's grad Spencer Horwitz, his MLB debut exceeded even his expectations. "The dream didn't do it any justice. It was everything I dreamed of times 10," Horwitz said. "It was the atmosphere, being there with my family, all the emotions, it was unbelievable."
