People in a tent. And i heard a lot of screaming and i wasnt sure what was going on. Reporter a large limb from a black oak had fallen on a tent at upper pines camp ground. Park rangers rushed to the scene but it was too late. Unfortunately two young people were in the tent, minors under 18. The tree branch fell and struck them. And unfortunately, they died. Reporter the camp ground is packed with tourists from around the world this time of the year. Many making reservations a year in advance. Upper pines is popular with families because of its Majestic View of half dome. These people did nothing wrong. They were in an established campsite. Reporter park officials did not close the camp ground. An Investigation Underway to determine why the tree failed. This is what draws people here this time of the year and especially to that upper pines camp ground. This incredible view of half dome. Busy traffic friday night. Investigators say it could be a case of arson. The chp says the smokiness is not helping the commute. Officials say one vacant building is threatened by the flames. This one in Yosemite National park. Tragedy after a tree limb fell on two children, killing them. The National Park service is trying to figure out why that branch fell.
