JOINT STATEMENT
Queensland’s resource communities can apply for funding for infrastructure projects that will benefit the community and the regional workers and their families that live in those communities.
Applications open today for project funding under the Palaszczuk Government’s $100 million Resources Community Infrastructure Fund.
Deputy Premier and State Development Minister Steven Miles said the fund would deliver infrastructure in regional communities that would improve liability, support jobs and provide a boost to the economy as part of Queensland’s COVID-19 Economic Recovery Plan.
“According to the QRC the resources sector employs around 84,000 workers and directly supports 15,200 Queensland businesses,” Mr Miles said.
Australian coal mining company Glencore Coal Assets has tapped Data#3 to deploy data protection solutions from Dell Technologies to modernise its business continuity systems.
The Dell solution was picked to meet certain criteria like being a Capex purchase along with high reliability and performance, and also improve backup window time and be more easy for IT staff to manage.
Data#3 deployed Dell EMC PowerProtect appliances, Data Protection Suite and ECS Enterprise Object Storage to meet those requirements and replace a legacy solution that ran Veritas NetBackup media servers at each site and controlled by a single main server.
The company generates, keeps and uses large amounts of data via its extensive mining sites and operations across eastern Australia, and managing that involves a lot of systems.
