NEW ORLEANS A 27-year-old man has been arrested and booked after an attack that injured his mother and another hospital employee at a Shreveport hospital Monday.
The arrest of Zaokoye Chatman was noted on the Shreveport Police Department booking web site early Tuesday morning. The arrest was said to have occurred at 1:21 a.m. Tuesday.
Police believed Chatman is likely the same man who attacked and killed a Meraux man with a machete after an altercation at a gas station in New Orleans Sunday. However, a press release identifying Chatman as a suspect in the Shreveport attack did not mention the New Orleans incident.

A 27-year-old Louisiana man was arrested early Tuesday morning after he allegedly attacked his mother and another woman with a knife at the Shreveport hospital where they work.
ZaOkoye Chatman has been charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder and one count of aggravated second-degree battery after he allegedly walked into a medical building on the Ochsner LSU Health campus around 2:30 p.m. Monday and stabbed his mother in the head, then the other nurse.
Shreveport Cpl. Glen Heckard told KTBS that both injuries were not life-threatening.
