Glen Ellyn Village President Diane McGinley is winding down her final days in office, reflecting on a tenure defined by downtown development.
McGinley will step down at the start of the new year, four months before her term expires, to move to Texas with her family. She announced earlier this year that she wasn t seeking a second term.

GLEN ELLYN, IL Glen Ellyn Village President Diane McGinley will step down from her position effective Jan. 1, 2021. McGinley announced her decision at Monday night s village board meeting.
Trustee Craig Pryde will serve as President Pro-Tem from Jan. 1, 2021 through April 30, 2021, and the board will appoint an acting president at a future board meeting, according to a news release. The village president position will be formally elected in the April 6, 2021, election.
In addition to serving as village president since 2017, McGinley has been a substitute teacher for District 41, PTA President for Hadley Jr. High and as trustee on the village board from 2011 to 2015, and again in 2016.
