Meanwhile, i talked to the tenant inside the apartment where the fire began and he told me he woke up this morning to the sound of fire alarms ringing, the smell of smoke. He looked in a back bedroom and thats when he saw huge amount of flames. He was able to quickly grab his nephew and get out of the apartment before things got really bad. Just before 8 00 this morning a fire at these Garden Apartments on second and orange street southeast. Well, when we were dispatched and ready multiple phone calls indicating there were people trapped in the building. Reporter heres a glimpse at the scene, dc fire and ems sent out signaling danger. The people inside the apartment where the fire started made it out okay. A mom and her two boys had to be rescued from this window above, a teen jumped to safety. Weve had some rainfall thats moved through, some of it has been fairly heavy at times. Behind that however is the frontal system. So this is all ahead of a cold front. We anticipate that cold front to move through in the next few hours and ahead of it we could see some isolated storms that will be popping up. So we do have that in our forecast for tonight. However, the good news is its not going to last all night. In the overnight hours we will see some definite improvement as we get ready for your sunday. A lot of smoke coming out and all sorts of reports of Severe Weather that came through the Charles County area and wanted to show you the pictures coming back to the weather Storm Tracker 9. On the computer here this is a picture from hughsville. I believe its gallant drive there the very high water coming over that road. Hail reported to half dollar size. This is one and three quarter inches from kim berry in waldorf and a different look from there. The storms rolled through here looking down the other side of the street one more shot from our roof cam going back towards the situation where the fire has been knocked down with the Charles County Fire Department and some of the other area Fire Departments assisting here hamlin road. There was a house on hamlin road that force of winds blew a tree onto the house and power lines hit anct started a big fire. That house a total loss.
