Cyber attack shuts down largest US gasoline pipeline - 45% of east coast and southern regions -- Society s Child -- Sott net

© Glen Dillon, Wikimedia Commons Gas pipeline facility On Friday night, the largest U.S. gas pipeline announced it had halted its operations after it discovered it was targeted in a cyber attack. The pipeline provides about 45 percent of the fuel supply along the east coast and southern United States. In a company statement Friday night, Colonial Pipeline said, On May 7, the Colonial Pipeline Company learned it was the victim of a cybersecurity attack. In response, we proactively took certain systems offline to contain the threat, which has temporarily halted all pipeline operations, and affected some of our IT systems. According to Bloomberg, Colonial Pipeline operates the largest gasoline and diesel pipeline system in the U.S.

Western s student-run radio station earns national award nominations

February 12, 2021 KALAMAZOO, Mich. Flexibility fueled success this school year for Western Michigan University s student-run radio station, 89.1 WIDR-FM. The group picked up multiple nominations in the 2020-21 Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) Awards. Kyle Petronio This is truly a remarkable accomplishment for the 89.1 WIDR-FM team, says Glen Dillon, assistant director for student media. They have done an amazing job in spite of the pandemic and having to do most of their work away from the actual studios. Student media is strong at WMU! Max Reist Kyle Petronio, a senior from Hartland, Michigan, and Max Reist, a senior from Kalamazoo, are nominated in the best use of sound and best liner/sweeper categories. Petronio credits WIDR and the multimedia arts technology program for helping him and Reist develop their production skills.

From The Bottom Of My Heart, Thank You, KFR Listeners Published: February 12, 2021 A Halloween celebration in the early 1990s at Bourbon Street, in Kalamazoo, with Glen Dillon, me, and newsperson Diana Catacosinos. (Dave Benson,TSM) Well here it is, after 34 years, the final show on 103.3 KFR. Sad? No. Never, because it was one incredible ride. And because I m not gone. I ll be working 30 feet from here beginning Monday. When I got the call in late 1986, about coming to KFR, I had no idea that this would be as special a part of my life as it turned out. I guess in my mind, I thought this would just another stop on the journey. It turned out to be so much more than that.
