Education, health needs of students remain a priority in Robeson County

A year ago, April Hunt found herself thrust into the changes shared by millions of parents helping their children complete school online during a global pandemic.   Balancing work, trying to find a babysitter to go to work, worrying about contracting a deadly virus, and concerned about her children missing out on their educational development was, as she put it, “hard and stressful.”  She was trying to keep up with class assignments and schedules, and help out with homework and submission guidelines. Two of her children have ADHD and autism, which made virtual school even more challenging. Her fifth-grade son Chayton, who is now 11, had a hard time keeping up.
