Tessa said: We went to Porthleven to take some pictures for a social media post – beautiful Ady Barker platters. Just after this photo was taken a huge wave rolled in. I ran to avoid getting wet and the sea stole the platter – it’s gone, into the sea. I’m in shock, whilst Ady is as cool as a cucumber. The Merfolk (non gender specific mermaids) obviously liked the lost of it and decided they wanted it. A LONG lost photo found at the back of a tiny store cupboard at a shop being renovated in Helston prompted a huge response when it was posted on Facebook. Tessa Collet, owner of Glazed Expression at 45 Meneage Street, where the picture was found, posted: We found this recently buried in a wall cavity. Does anyone have any idea where it is? Who is it? Maybe someone who lived here once? Ceramicist Tessa and partner Ady Barker moved into the shop in August 2019 and are currently taking the opportunity of the lockdown to refurbish it from top to bottom. The event is being organised by Melinda King, manager of the Fishermen’s Mission charity shop. She has gathered interest from businesses in the town for such an event to take place this Friday (December 18). Shops will be opening until around 7pm that day, to allow people to head into town after work and do some Christmas shopping.
