One couple have made the most of theirs by creating a bar while others have gone for a more traditional home office or gym. And for Glasgow-based Outside In Garden Rooms they have coped with rising demand for their services while announcing that that they are expanding with a new hub in Edinburgh.

Lockdown Christmas volunteers go above and beyond to help Marie Curie Cancer Charity

The awkward pauses and moments when speakers are on mute have brought lighter moments to difficult days. However, Bob Crosbie has gone that extra mile and raised more than £3000 for Marie Curie Cancer in the process by bringing alpacas to virtual meetings. The charity was one of many whose fundraising efforts and services were hit hard in the pandemic. With the help of dedicated and inspiring volunteers, the charity has been able to maintain its profile and awareness of what it does as well as adapting how they operate. After weeks of lockdown, an alpacas farmer came up with a way to share some joy, offering some very special guests to join team meetings.

First look round Glasgow restaurant which reopens its doors on Christmas Eve

A West End restaurant will reopen its doors for the first time in months on Christmas Eve despite new restrictions coming into place which will affect it within days. The renamed Ziques in Hyndland had been planning to reopen this week following a major revamp and menu change including out with the breakfasts and in with a new cuisine. After it was revealed on Saturday that parts of Scotland will be plunged into the most severe restriction level 4 from Boxing Day, the former Café Zique has now had to revise plans. They are planning to open on Thursday and then move to a take-away service in light of the Boxing Day lockdown forcing pubs and restaurants to close once again.

Lockdown heroes Perthshire's Feldy-Roo continue to make a difference with Christmas appeal

Toys and gifts collected following a donations after an appeal was made by Feldy-Roo IT was one of the heartwarming aspects of lockdown. As the country faced weeks of restrictions, a wave of community spirit took hold and brought out the best in people. One group started out just days after lockdown by chance. When the Fountain Bar in Aberfeldy was among thousands of pubs and restaurants having to close their doors, they found themselves with surplus food. Bar owner and Elgin City FC manager Gavin Price, now MBE, and his team decided to cook up some meals for people in Aberfeldy who were either vulnerable or being told to shield.
