25th May 2021 The Duchess of Cambridge joined her husband in Scotland on Monday, with a visit to Turning Point Scotland in North Lanarkshire, where they spoke to those supported by the social care services organisation. During their visit, William and Kate heard more about the programmes offered by Turning Point Scotland through its Turnaround programme, which offers support to “address the complex and interrelated issues of offending behaviours and problematic use of alcohol and other drugs, which often result in patters of re-offending,” per the organisation’s website. Turning Point Scotland was founded in 1999 and supports the most vulnerable in society, whether they’re dealing with homelessness, addiction, or mental health issues “to halt these cycles and address fundamental issues in order to ensure that those they support are able to live mentally healthy and happy lives.”
