The magical world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be brought to life by Gladstone students with their Combined Schools musical performance of the family classic.
Generations of Gladstone region children have grown up delighted by the world of pure imagination Willy Wonka created in his marvellous chocolate factory.
Students from across the region are eager to take to the stage of the Gladstone Entertainment and Convention Centre GECC in the musical production.
But, to ensure the musical is a hit and guarantee plentiful “golden” ticket sales by the audience, the production is looking for a professional director.
The landmark signing of a memorandum of understanding between multiple partners signals the progression towards Gladstone becoming âthe hydrogen capital of the world.â
By the year 2030, it is anticipated thousands of people will be employed in the renewable hydrogen industry in Gladstone and CQ, and exports generating billions of dollars will flow through Queenslandâs biggest and busiest multi-commodity port.
Global hydrogen heavyweight, Japanâs Sumitomo Corporation, has partnered with Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC), Gladstone Regional Council (GRC), CQ University (CQU) and the Australian Gas Industry Group AGIG to develop Australiaâs, and the worldâs first hydrogen ecosystem. “My involvement with Legally Blonde’s stage production was absolutely fabulous,” she said.
“The amount of talent and people that came in, some no prior musical experience, and the GECC staff were all amazing.”
“There is incredible talent in the region and the people involved in the arts and culture sector are very warm and welcoming to everyone who comes along,” she said.
Ms Addison’s main commitment is ensuring Legally Blonde goes ahead at full steam, but other than that it should be a relaxing 2021 for the arts veteran.
“I’ve retired so I will be doing some work around the home, hopefully travelling with my partner but always playing music with my friends and learning new music,” she said.
