America s Coolest Truck Goes On Sale In EV-Loving Europe

Will the Jeep Gladiator even fit in tiny Euro parking spots? Although it first went on sale here in the US back in the spring of 2019, only now is the Jeep Gladiator reaching European shores. FCA (soon to be Stellantis) has just announced the Gladiator is now on sale at Jeep dealerships throughout Europe. Unlike US buyers, European Gladiator customers can only get the 3.0-liter Multijet V6 diesel engine with 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The decision to sell only the oil burner in Europe makes sense due to the continent s stricter fuel emissions standards. The EPA has rated the Gladiator diesel at 22/28/24 mpg city/highway/combined. By contrast, an automatic-equipped 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 model carries a 17/22/19 mpg rating. The V6 can only be had in non-European markets and in the Middle East.

Jeep Gladiator Owner Who Voided Warranty For Mud Driving Forced To Fix Truck Herself

After voiding their warranty for driving in the mud, this unfortunate owner was left with no other options. The Jeep Gladiator is designed to tackle tough terrain from steep hills and muddy bogs to deep rivers. It came as a surprise, then, when one owner, Cara, a.k.a. JeepGladiatorForum user Gladiatrix, voided her warranty after plowing it through a mud bath. Ironically, it was even fitted with special mud tires. To recap, caking the truck in mud damaged the alternator, radiator, and both batteries. One dealer quoted $3,000 for the repairs, while another fixed the alternator but didn t think the other parts needed replacing. A few months later, the rear axle locked up, causing the truck to fishtail on a highway and nearly causing an accident. From there, the nightmare situation only got worse.

Chrysler Founder s Great-Grandson Trying To Stop Merger

Is his plan too little too late? The proposed $38 billion merger between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and French Groupe PSA passed its final regulatory hurdle just over a week ago and is now on course to become the world s fourth-largest automaker. The transaction s final approval is due to happen on January 4, 2021 and the final agreement will be signed no later than March 31, 2021. The newly combined automaker, Stellantis, will include all of FCA s brands including Jeep, Ram, Fiat, and Chrysler as well as Peugeot, Citroen, and Opel. But not everyone is pleased with what s happening. The great-grandson of Chrysler Corporation found Walter P. Chrysler, Frank B. Rhodes, Jr., sent a request on December 24 to FCA to consider his merger plan alternative. In short, he doesn t like the idea of his great-grandfather s company becoming a multi-nationally-owned corporation.
