Dublin students pandemic stories included in arts council s time-capsule project
The generation of children whose lives were upended by the COVID-19 coronavirus won’t soon forget it.
But 12 years from now, as many will be graduating from a college or university, students from five Dublin elementary schools will have the opportunity to revisit their own words and pictures describing that moment in time because of a time-capsule project with the Dublin Arts Council.
“I might go back so my family can see what I wrote when I was in the fourth grade,” said Kaiden Marsh, 10, a student at Indian Run Elementary School.

Two area land developers have joined forces to launch the new neighbourhood of Glacier Ridge in northwest Calgary.
The community is a partnership of Anthem United and Ronmor Group, developers whose previous collaborations include Nolan Hill and Sage Hill in the northwest, and Silverado and Cougar Ridge in the southwest.

Glacier Ridge is a master-planned community in the Symons Valley/West Nose Creek area north of 144th Avenue N.W., adjacent to Nolan Hill. At completion, it will have more than 4,100 single-family homes and 87 acres of multi-family development and commercial land. The first group of home builders includes Shane Homes, Jayman Built, Morrison Homes, Trico Homes and Cedarglen Homes.
THUNDER BAY Some of Thunder Bay s older residents have paired up with a group of its youngest citizens to share the spirit of Christmas.
Through several initiatives over the past few months, people living at the Chartwell Glacier Ridge retirement residence on Jasper Drive had already established a relationship with students of St. Ann Elementary School on Georgina Avenue.
Kaitlynn Hynnes, the lifestyle and programs manager at the retirement home, says intergenerational programming has been demonstrated to be an effective way to foster happiness among seniors.
This month, residents of Glacier Ridge made reindeer Christmas candy grams for St. Ann s grades one and two students.
