Coinbase Adds Support for Internet Computer (ICP), a Utility Token Supporting DeFi, NFTs Beginning on Monday (May 10, 2021), digital asset firm Coinbase will be supporting Internet Computer (ICP) at Coinbase.com (for retail traders) and via the Coinbase Android and iOS apps as well. Coinbase clients now have the option to purchase, sell, convert, send, receive, or store ICP tokens. ICP is currently available through all Coinbase-supported regions, but not in New York State (presumably due to regulatory restrictions). ICP trading is also supported via Coinbase Pro, the crypto exchange platform for professional traders. As explained in the announcement, Internet Computer utility tokens (ICP) may be staked in its governance system in order to earn “voting rewards”, or “converted into cycles” that may be used to run smart contract computation.

Donor-advised funds have been around for decades in Canada, but data show the charitable-giving vehicles have gained significant traction in recent years. A recent report from Toronto-based research firm Investor Economics says the value of donor-advised funds in Canada grew at a compound annual rate of 14.3 per cent between 2016 and 2018, to $5.7-billion from $4.4-billion. There was a 35-per-cent increase in the number of donor-advised funds set up at various foundations over the two-year period, the report shows, and a steady rise in donations to new and existing funds.
