Thursday 21 January 2021 Giuseppe Attanasio It takes most brands a very long time to achieve what Gambian-born, Italian-based Paboy Bojang has in less than a year. Taking Instagram by storm with his bold colour combinations and zeitgeist-grabbing ruffled cushions, Paboy has spent the last seven months filling peoples’ homes with joy. Paboy first posted on Instagram in July and from there, his brand In Casa by Paboy has flown around the world. It was not an easy journey for Paboy to get to where he is now (Naples), and his story is one of hardship and perseverance. In 2013, Paboy made the decision to leave school and his family to flee the dictatorship in Gambia. It took him two years to travel the route known as the ‘backway’ to Europe, a journey fraught with danger and violence which the young designer experienced first-hand.
