The Latvian Olympic Committee's leadership are set to be considered
public officials, requiring its officials to adhere to conflict of
interest regulations in the country.
Latvian Basketball Association (LBS) President Raimonds Vējonis has
denied interest in ousting Žoržs Tikmers as head of the Latvian
Olympic Committee, although has called on him to resign.
Latvian Olympic Committee President Žoržs Tikmers has rejected
accusations of a conflict of interest relating to companies selected
as suppliers, claiming he is the subject of a "defamation campaign"
led by the Latvian Basketball Association.
