The woman is being treated for life threatening injuries. Police have no motive or suspects. This morning Vallejo Police are searching for a missing 77 yearold man. Now, they washed up all of a sudden, along a 12mile stretch of beach. Cbs 5 reporter kiet do on the theory about where all that squid came from and how people have been out there trying to save them. Reporter the beaches of Santa Cruz County are littered with the carcasses of thousands of squid. Theyve stranded themselves in a span of 12 miles. You see them essentially killing themselves and its just really weird to see it. Reporter it happened yesterday during high tide. Some people actually tried to put them back in the water. But researcher hannah says the deepwater creatures just swam back to shore. It might be that they dont understand whats going on around them and they dont realize, if they swim toward the shore, theyre gonna run out of water eventually. Accident on the caltrainses track, hit a car around 6 00 last night at the 16th near the caltrain depot. Nobody was hurt but northbound tracks were shut down well into the evening as the car was removed and inspectors were checking out the equipment to make sure it was okay, and one more chance for people to tell the city manager what she should look for in a new police chief.
