Hours after a 7-year-old girl was shot in the head in Hickory Hill, a Memphis man was behind bars for the crime, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).
Tishawn Nelson was shot in the head on June 25, 2017 and survived. On the four-year anniversary, she and her mother reflect on what they've gone through.
Kentayvia Blackful was struck by a bullet in south suburban Harvey when she was in her home.

The sixth grader was murdered on her birthday. That s when I seen that she was struck in the head, Kentnilla said.
Since September of 2019, Kentnilla has been waiting for an arrest, and the family showed up to the city hall Thursday to get answers.
