COLORADO SPRINGS â As school districts continue to find ways to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic, two Chinook Trail Middle School students are stepping up to help improve the mental health of their peers.
As part of their Silver Award Project for Girl Scouts Colorado, Kaitlin S. and Grace H. are creating a safe space for students to go when they re feeling overwhelmed or stressed.

Beginning Jan. 31, Girl Scouts in Colorado will start selling cookies in new, safe and innovative ways around the state.
Despite the effects of the pandemic, Girl Scouts are moving forward with the sales, with some new adjustments.
The troops will host virtual and drive-thru cookie booths, where a buyer can text COOKIES to 59618 or use the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app to find booths in their area.
In addition, Girl Scouts will drop the cookies off on buyers porches.
