Scouting News: Local Girl Scouts honored for service

Courtesy of Nikitha Shetty Girl Scout Marie Godderis teaches children in Uganda about the importance of dental care. Several Girl Scouts from Los Altos area Service Unit 608 were honored Jan. 24 during a virtual awards tea ceremony. Cadette Troop 61025, led by Amy Mendenhall of Los Altos, hosted the event. The Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouts, is earned by only 5.4% of eligible Scouts. Marie Godderis and Anooshkha Shetty received recognition for earning their Gold Awards at the ceremony. Both are members of Girl Scout Troop 60321 and seniors at Los Altos High School.
