19-year-old charged with attempted murder following shooting at N.J. apartment complex

A 19-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after authorities say he shot and injured another man during a robbery near a New Brunswick apartment complex last month.
Giovanni Hoyos-Jaimes, of New Brunswick shot the victim multiple times in the area of the Tov Manor Apartments on Phelps Avenue around 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 28, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said Thursday night.
The man survived his injuries after being treated at a city hospital.
Hoyos-Jaimes is also charged with two weapons offenses, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and aggravated assault.
