A Greek journalist was killed Friday afternoon by strangers outside his home in Alimos, on the southern outskirts of Athens, a police source said. He specialized in criminal cases.
Giorgos Karaïvaz, journalist for the private Greek television station Star, “was shot and killed instantly,” an official at the Athens police press office told AFP. The news caused a shock in the journalistic community and many media cut off their programs.
