The search for a missing Texas State student ended after a body believed to be his was found, according to Texas EquuSearch.
Harper Garlitos, 21, was last seen near the Target (700 Barnes Dr.) and Academy Sports + Outdoors (550 Barnes Dr.) on May 9, according to San Marcos Police Department detectives.
Garlitos’ mother, Ginger Sandlin, said in a Facebook post that Harper was found Tuesday.
“There are so many things we as a society need to get better, do better,” Sandlin said on Facebook. “Acceptance of those who are different, mental health awareness, seeing disabilities for what they truly are, continuing to honor those disabilities and differences as young people move into adulthood. Autism isn’t going away. Mental health isn’t going away. Outcast kids aren’t going away. Their pain and suffering isn’t going away until we do everything in our power to accept them and their differences and let them know they are OK.”
