Focused on its intersection with social media, Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism Dean Willow Bay talked with United States Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy and Common Sense Media CEO Jim Steyer in a conversation about how young adults manage mental health Thursday.

The Recording Academy is living up to their diversity and inclusion initiatives by hosting events to highlight Black voices in the industry and the messages they wish to share with the world.

As the countdown to the Grammys continues, the Recording Academy has been hosting multiple events promoting diversity and inclusion in the music industry. One of which, held Wednesday evening, was the Inaugural Black Music Collective Event, celebrating Black voices in music and creative industries. Music industry veterans, activists and actors alike came together to discuss the impact that Black creators have on these industries and their strides to create a more inclusive environment within them.
Most famous for his very successful hip-hop and acting career, Ice-T and USC Professor Jody Armour sat down for a conversation hosted by Visions and Voices.

USC kicked off Black History Month with a symposium Monday, presenting students in attendance with a brief welcome from Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs director Greedley F. Harris III. Over a backdrop of two Black students receiving their diplomas, Harris III announced the theme of Black History Month at USC: Black history in the making.
The event, which focused on the innovations of Black alumni and recognition of the Black USC community, was hosted by CBCSA.

Jan. 15 Growing up in Biloxi, Sean Nguyen learned that the yellow- and red-striped flag of South Vietnam represented much more than the country his family had left. What I was taught is, that flag represents everything that we fought for, he said. And kind of coming to America to live in a democracy, in a way.
Last week, Nguyen saw the flag among the Trump banners, Gadsden flags, stars and stripes and Confederate battle flags in the crowd at the U.S. Capitol. (There were also several other national flags, including for Israel, Cuba, South Korea and Canada.) It wasn t really a surprise, he said: many Vietnamese Americans, especially older people, strongly support the president.
