Colleagues, family members and classmates of Emmanuel Israel, a 100 level Mathematics student of the Plateau State University, wept uncontrollably last week when his remains were laid to rest. The late Israel was among other students who trooped into the streets to protest against the abduction of three of their schoolmates by gunmen at Ndar community, close to the university. Sadly, Israel fell off a moving vehicle as the protest endured. He later died at a hospital.
Sunday PUNCH gathered that the abducted all female students were rescued a few hours later while another male student was shot during the attack.
