Tomorrow night, the New Jersey Devils will step on the ice for the first time in over 10 months; it’s been a long wait, but at last Devils Hockey will be back! The team has changed quite a bit since we last saw them, both in terms of on ice and off ice personnel, so it will be a different product when the Boston Bruins roll into town tomorrow. So how will the team do? Who’s going to play a big role for the team? Today, myself and seven other AAtJ writers take a look at how we believe the team will perform in the 2021 season.

Devils begin preparation for roster cuts, place 5 players on waivers

Final NHL rosters need to be set by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, and the Devils used Monday to begin preparing for their final cuts.
The Devils assigned six players Brett Seney, Nate Schnarr, Kevin Bahl, Reilly Walsh, Nikita Okhotyuk and Evan Cormier to the AHL.
Five players were placed on waivers. Any players who clear without being claimed by other NHL teams by noon on Tuesday will be eligible to be placed on the NHL taxi squad or sent the AHL.

While Palmieri is entering the season on the final year of his current contract and his long-term future is still up in the air, he’s still the Devils’ top goal scorer and will be vital for any success the team has this season.
