June 03, 2021GILFORD The Belmont track team put up some impressive performances at the Division III State Meets last week.
This year, to keep the number of athletes to a minimum, the meet was divided into two, with the girls competing on Tuesday, May 25, and the boys competing on Wednesday, May 26, both at Gilford High School.
In the 100 meters for the girls, Emma Winslow finished in fourth in the preliminaries with a time of 13.63 seconds and took third in the finals in 13.67 seconds.

June 03, 2021GILFORD Members of the Berlin track team made the trip south to Gilford High School last week to take part in the Division III State Meet.
This year, things were a little different, as the meet was divided into two meets, one for the girls and one for the boys.
The girls were up first, competing on Tuesday, May 25. The Mountaineer girls finished in a tie for 17th place overall, with Hopkinton taking the win and Newfound finishing in second place.
High Schools: D-III track championship delayed by weather with just 2 events left
Kearsarge s Berhan Kidane competes at the 2021 Division III boys track & field championships on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Gilford High School. Kearsarge trailed Newport by four points when the meet was suspended after 16 of 18 events due to thunderstorms. The final two events, triple jump and high jump, will be completed on Saturday. Kidane is one of three competitors left in the high jump and is also still competing in the triple jump, as is Newport’s Marius Edwards. Kidane did finish third in the long jump.
