AID offers Street Outreach Program for the homeless

The Association for Individual Development Street Outreach Program supports individuals experiencing homelessness by encouraging engagement with appropriate mental health services.
The goal of this program is to reduce inappropriate use of emergency services and support individuals with mental health needs.
The level of engagement and length of service will depend on each individual s needs.
It is eligible for individuals who are frequently using emergency services due to homelessness and an increase in mental health concerns.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 8, Greater Elgin Family Care Center will begin vaccinating existing center patients eligible under phase 1A and 1B at various Health Center locations. As a part of a coordinated effort with various counties including Cook, DeKalb, Kane and McHenry, Greater Elgin Family Care Center anticipates a sufficient supply of vaccines to begin offering the Moderna vaccine to eligible individuals.
Greater Elgin Family Care Center has engaged in an essential role in the fight against COVID-19 and continues to expand services in order to meet the needs of area residents.
Initially, the center began providing COVID-19 testing at the beginning of the pandemic, providing LabCorp s nasal swab testing, while later expanding this service to offer LabCorp s serological antibody testing and, recently, Abbott s BinaxNOW rapid test.

The Dundee Library and Randall Oaks Library will welcome patrons back into their buildings starting Monday, Feb. 8. The last day for curbside pickup will be Sunday, Feb. 7.
Patrons are invited back to browse and make their selections for checkout, but will be unable to linger or gather and are asked to limit their visit to 60 minutes. Social distancing procedures will be practiced, and masks will be required to enter the library. Capacity limits will be followed, and patrons will be asked to wait for entry if necessary. Home delivery service will continue.
The Dundee Library is located at 555 Barrington Ave. (Route 68) in East Dundee. The Randall Oaks Library is located on the lower level of the Randall Oak Recreation Center, 500 N. Randall Road in West Dundee.
Apply for performing arts scholarship by April 2

The Dennis Taylor Scholarship Foundation for the Performing Arts will be awarding college scholarships for the 2021-22 school year.
The deadline for submitting application materials is Friday, April 2. Interviews will be conducted by invitation and appointment only on Saturday, April 10, via Zoom.
Awards are available to students of voice, instrument, theater and dance residing in Chicago s western suburbs.
Applicants may be postsecondary, undergraduate or graduate students who are majoring in the performing arts and who demonstrate a passion for performance.
Ten scholarships were awarded for the current school year.
