With officials saying summer school enrollment is nearly double from previous years, A Gift For Teaching gave Orange County summer school teachers supply kits and extra surprises for their dedication this past year.
Five Orange County public schools were fully equipped with teacher supplies to help students have a successful summer, A Gift For Teaching announced.

Officials have said more than 37,000 students are enrolled in Orange County Public Schools’ summer school this year and 1,500 teachers will be on hand to serve the students.

ORLANDO, Fla. – A Central Florida nonprofit helping students and teachers prepare for the school year ahead will get a big boost with the help of matching funders doubling each donation of backpacks and supplies.
A Gift For Teaching will hold its annual drive in June called “The Great Big Backpack Build” where participants stuff new backpacks with school supplies and other essentials that will be given to students at no cost.
It’s no secret that 2020 was a rough year for a lot of people. Disney is pretty well known for giving back to communities and those in need. The Disney cast and community did just that and offer support to communities around the world last year. Let’s take a look at some of the ways Disney gave back in 2020:
Around the world, Disney shared over 880 tons of food to support those in need. From more than 145,000 pizza meals donated from Disneyland Paris, to pineapple, sweet rolls and more from Aulani Resort, contributing to local communities continues to be a commitment of Disney’s, including Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort.
2020. While the year was so challenging, it was also a year in which we saw some amazing giving. In 2020, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products donated more than $30 million in food, products, and supplies as part of Disney’s overall COVID response efforts. From food and supply donations to activities and performances to enjoy from home, they’ve been able to share the joy of Disney with fans and families – not to mention virtual volunteer opportunities for our Cast Members and continuing to find innovative ways to grant wishes and make magical moments possible with nonprofit partners like Make-A-Wish.
