change. political analysts mark halpern and john heilemann. i love how he said it was a surprise. it wasn t a surprise at all. i think that was sarcasm. you think so? yeah. which is an interesting question. why did they telegraph it so much? producing. was it not it seems like given they moved the announcement up and everything they were trying to do to get back on track from the weekend, that that was part of the plan of, like, get everything out and get people talking about it, that it s an earlier announcement and an announcement you re all going to consider a mainstream, you know, conservative mainstream announcement and calm people down. willie, have a lot of rules, as you know, politically. you know? nobody should ever go 90 miles an hour and another rule i ve always had. never sneak up on the press. always let them know. always telegraph. they certainly did this yesterday. they didn t sneak up on the press like they did a couple of days before. and for all o
the giddiness. fabulous. andy: i do take issue with perry saying that i think we found our saturday night live sound bite, because it was funn funny. [laughter] saturday night live actually is a very funny show. andy: sonny did you say your offer protesters as long as they re peaceful and get arrested question at i want them to be peaceful and in jail. andy: even if you re not breaking any laws? yes. andy: that might ve slain your pain. i was hoping simony would notice, i was hoping it would be you. it s the insignia from the empire in star wars . there were a multiple multif
the pulse of social media. he s the ultimate reality star. and now he s producing if you will the show of a lifetime, his presidential transition. the new york times reported that at a funds raiser this morning in manhattan, trump teased the audience with festivities planned for his presidential inauguration. the president-elect said he was paid a visit a day earlier by mark burnett, executive producer of the apprentice, the reality show that helped make the president-elect a house old nho name. mr. trump told the crowd that mr. burnett proposed reinventing it with a helicopter taking it off. all night here i m in a mood of giddiness because it s so absurd what he s up to, but the show business quality is unending. it s like he s a comic that has to keep the audience on its toes every second. he s scared to death of flop sweat. he has to tell a joke a second.
really sad things about what s going on, donald trump is that he s exploiting this issue with the horrible tragedy that happened in san francisco. we re not getting to the policy. we should be having a serious policy discussion about immigration and about sanctuary cities. i m fine with eliminating sanctuary cities. let s make it part of immigration reform so that, you know bleeding heart cities like san francisco are not taking the laws into their own hands. frankly, there is absolutely no excuse why there should be felons with multiple felonies and convictions roaming the streets despite the federal government asking for them to be turned over. dan pfeiffer, as a democrat, how much does this split, which we just illustrated right here within the republican party, help your party? he s trying to control his giddiness. i m not even trying to control it. i think as a democrat donald trump should keep talking. we should put a camera on him 24/7. this is great for democrats. it does
were going to have to watch you packing, because they re off to hawaii. he said no, i m already packed. so there s that end of the year giddiness. but i think the president is also feeling the release of he s not now responsible for midterm elections. he s not responsible for, you know, whether the senate majority can get this or that, because the dye is cast and he s going to be working with republicans. as you heard him say, i ll work where i can. there are things we can do business on. the full interview will air in its full sunday morning 9:00 a.m. eastern and at noon eastern. and i want our viewers to know, it will be candy s final state of the union after five years, after 27 brilliant years at cnn. candy is moving on. she s been an inspiration, a wonderful journalist and great
