Nigerian Police Raid Terrorists Hideout In Katsina, Arrest Informants, Kidnappers, Others

  The police in Katsina have arrested seven suspected informants for bandits and terrorists. They said the informants belong to a syndicate of terrorists, armed robbers and kidnappers. According to the police, the suspects have been terrorising Danja Local Government Area of the state and its environs for some time. They were arrested “based on credible intelligence on August 8, 2022, at about 0800 hours”.

2 min read The police in Kano on Wednesday paraded a 23-year-old widow, Maryam Muhammad, and three other suspected kidnappers, allegedly operating in Kano and Zamfara states. Ms Muhammad is from Butsa village in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The police said her husband was a notorious cattle rustler who had been killed while stealing cows. Parading the suspects, the police spokesperson in Kano, Abdullahi Haruna, said they were arrested on Friday at an apartment in Kano where they were holding a victim, Mohammed Sanusi. Mr Haruna said the suspects had demanded N10 million ransom from Mr Sanusi’s parents when they were arrested.

The police public relations officer, PPRO, DSP Abdullahi Haruna in a statement announcing the arrest of the kidnappers, said, “On Tuesday January 12th, 2021, at about 8pm, a complaint was lodged by one Sunusi Ado of Galadanchi Quarters, Gwale LGA of Kano State, that his 29 year old son, Mohammed Sanusi was kidnapped and a cash ransom of N10 million was demanded.
