Darjeeling: Joyrides for the much-awaited Darjeeling Toy Train will resume on Friday, on the occasion of Christmas. According to the officials, the number of services will be gradually increased depending upon the response received from the tourists.
“The West Bengal government has given permission for the resumption of joy ride services between Darjeeling and Ghum at present,” a Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) official was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
According to the NFR spokesperson, three joyrides will take place every day starting Friday. According to a report in the Financial Express, the train will make scheduled stops at Batasia Eco Garden, Gorkha War Memorial and another scheduled halt of 20 minutes at Ghum station to visit the famous Ghum Museum
