The steel city is all set to host the women’s national preparatory camp for the Fifa under-17 Women’s World Cup to be held next year.
Sources claimed that the state sports department has once again initiated talks with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Sports Authority of India (Eastern Centre) regarding the camp in Jamshedpur.
It is being said that chief minister Hemant Soren is keen to host the camp in Jharkhand, the expenses for which will be borne by the state government while AIFF and Jharkhand Football Association (JFA) will be lending the technical support.
Ghulam Rabbani, secretary of JFA, confirmed Jamshedpur as the venue for the camp.
Suddenly, a blast went off, killing four of the players.
Although Kunduz has long remained the most restive area in northern Afghanistan because of Taliban’s heavy presence and routine violence, officials investigating the attack were bewildered by its cause as they could not immediately determine how it had happened.
It took them a day to conclude that it was a device attached to a small drone which was dropped from the sky, part of a new method used by the Taliban in their war of attrition that has lasted nearly 20 years as the US prepares to withdraw troops by next spring.

Taliban militants have killed at least 10 members of the Afghan security forces in the northern province of Kunduz, officials said on December 14, as the government announced that peace talks will resume next month.
The attack occurred in the Imam Sahib district of the province, local counsellors Ghulam Rabbani Rabbani and Aminullah Aydin said.
Eight of the victims were police officers and two were soldiers.
The number of the wounded was not immediately available, the officials said.
Kunduz fell twice to the Taliban in recent years.
Since September, the Afghan government and Taliban militants have been holding peace talks in Qatar aimed at ending decades of war.
