Projects will vastly improve the city’s sewer system infrastructure to help protect nearby waterbodies, prevent breaks and leaks in sewer lines, reduce flooding.
The New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board announced Tuesday that it will begin modernizing sewer pipelines across the city, thanks in part to a $275 million federal loan.
"Federal agents arrived this morning at our St. Joseph Street office to gain access to records kept within the Sewerage and Water Board’s Plumbing Department.
