As of February 10 there were 2.26million people shielding in the UK, according to NHS figures. That number equates to a huge four percent of the population. Those who have been forced to shield are predominantly in the older age groups, mainly 50-year-olds and above. This is likely due to the fact their age makes them at higher risk for serious illness from the virus, and a combination of any underlying health condition heightens that risk further.
The data from NHS England includes all patients identified by GPs, the NHS and hospital doctors.
Man gets life term in drug case in Joypurhat The New Nation

A court in Joypurhat district on Tuesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment in a drug case.
The convicted Robiul Islam, 35, is the resident of Chakchandira village in Damoirhat upazila Naogaon district.
The court also fined him Tk 20,000, in default of which he will have to suffer six more months rigorous imprisonment.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Golam Sarwar handed down the verdict around 12 noon.
Another accused Abu Raihan was acquitted as the guilt brought against him was not proved.
According to case statement, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested Robiul along with 554 bottles of Phensedyl syrup in Joypurhat district town on January 17, 2016.
