A man was seriously injured after being mistaken for a turkey and shot by a hunter in Missouri.
The injured man had to be transported to a trauma center by a medical helicopter on Saturday.
There was an ongoing turkey hunt at the time the man was shot, KSDK reported.
The hiker was seriously injured and transported for medical treatment, KSDK reported.
Police said they responded to the scene at the Lewis and Clark Trail at the August A. Busch Memorial and Weldon Spring Conservation Area at around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday after dispatchers received a call that a man had been shot.

Senate Democrats are weighing whether to merge coronavirus relief and infrastructure into one massive package using the reconciliation process, two Democratic aides tell Insider.
The discussions reflects the desire among Democrats to swiftly capitalize on their new power and enact large parts of their agenda. We have few shots at the apple and we don t want to risk doing too little, a senior Democratic aide said.
