HURDLE: Johnson & Johnson COVID Vaccine Gets Pause over Blood Clots
Posted on 04/14/2021
U.S. health officials publicly recommended a pause on the usage of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine due to dangerous blood-clotting to give them time to inform doctors on how to treat the rare disorder. 6 women between the ages of 18 and 48 developed severe blood clots in the brain days after getting the one-shot J&J COVID vaccine and U.S. federal officials called for a temporary halt in its use. The clots are called cerebral venous sinus thrombosis.
Johnson & Johnson (J&J) said it was aware of the rare reports of blood clots.
