The G3 grant helps students pursue jobs in healthcare, information technology, manufacturing and skilled trades. Jason Ferguson, associate VP of Professional & Career Studies with Central Virginia Community College, said it also includes early childhood education and public safety. Any of those fields, they can come and get this education, get trained, get credentials and be ready for the workforce, said Ferguson. He said to apply for the grant you can meet with counselors by scheduling an appointment.

Executive Directive Sixteen requires the agency add 300 new adjudication staffers, make immediate technology upgrades and complete a full modernization of the Commonwealthâs unemployment insurance system by October 1. While Virginia ranks sixth in the nation for the timely payment of benefits to eligible applicants, Northam s office says this will speed up the resolution of cases flagged as potentially fraudulent or ineligible. These cases represent approximately four percent of all claims.
