On may 8, 1945 officers of the german army signed the Unconditional Surrender of the nazi regime in berlin. We were not to berlin to see the commemoration of the liberation of the city. At berlins striking soviet war memorial, the public paid their respects to the 6 million Red Army Soldiers slaughtered in the war.
