Car/motorcycle crash sends one to hospital

Courtesy-GTVFD TAYLORSVILLE, Ind. – The German Township Volunteer Fire Department (GTVFD), Columbus Regional Health (CRH), the Edinburgh Police Department, and the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s office were dispatched late Friday afternoon to an accident on Henry Lakes Boulevard, near Heritage Heights just south of Taylorsville. When authorities arrived, they found that a car and a motorcycle were involved in the crash. One person was injured and GTVFD determined that a medical helicopter was needed. Firefighters continued patient care until CRH EMS1 arrived, which provided paramedic-level care until IU Health Lifeline arrived. Lifeline transported the patient to a level 1 trauma center in Indianapolis.

Saturday night car accident fatal to Columbus woman

Courtesy-Sheriff Myers TAYLORSVILLE, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) and German Township Volunteer Fire Department (GTVFD) responded to a fatal, single-vehicle crash near Taylorsville, on North County Road 280W at Fawn Court, on Saturday at around 10:20 p.m. After arriving, deputies found Matthew Hunstable, 29, of Clifford, outside the car, and Ashley Cox, 24, of Columbus, trapped inside. GTVFD removed the female from the car. Both were taken to Columbus Regional Health. Cox was later moved to IU Methodist Hospital where she died.
