COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriffs Office responded to a shooting that occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, in the 9400 block of Main Street, in Taylorsville. Law enforcement temporarily closed Main Street from U.S. 31 to County Road 650N.
The victim, identified as Justin Black, was found with a bullet wound to his stomach and was transported by Lifeline helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital. Deputies say the alleged suspect was detained and is cooperating with law enforcement. The investigation is ongoing.
Sheriff Matt Myers says there was never any threat to the public as the weapon apparently used was secured. The Columbus Police Department and German Township Fire Department assisted.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Vanderburgh County Dispatch confirmed that crews responded to a working structure fire that occurred on Sunday.
Dispatch officials say the fire broke out at a detached garage on the 8300 block of Fehr Lane in Evansville.
Officials also say the call originally came in around 10:25 a.m.
According to the German Township Fire Department, fire crews who first arrived on scene found a two-car garage with heavy smoke and flames coming from one side of the structure.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Fire officials say one person is injured after a fire broke out in McCutchanville.
Vanderburgh County Dispatch confirmed that a working structure fire was in progress on the 6100 block of Dana Drive on Sunday evening.

According to McCutchanville Fire Chief Nick Adams, fire crews were dispatched to a residence located on the street following a reported fire in one of the bedrooms near the back part of the house. Dispatch officials say they originally received the call around 7:08 p.m.
